Sad news: death of Dietmar Steiner (1951-2020)
Architekturzentrum Wien Az W
May 18, 2020
All in ICAM were very sorry to hear the sad news of the death on 15 May of our Past President Dietmar Steiner.

Dietmar was the founding director of Architekturzentrum Wien (Az W) in 1993 and led its ground-breaking work for 23 years. Dietmar ensured that Az W was a vital home for architects’ collections, a leader in critical debates and the social dimension of architecture, as well as being welcoming and relevant to children and the general public. ICAM is frequently approached for advice by those seeking to establish new architecture museums; a visit to Az W and a meeting with Dietmar have always been at the top of our recommendations.
